Renowned Broadcaster and Tipster, Ed 'Longshot Ted' Quigley has been amongst the winners lately and serves up his Lucky 15 for Tuesday's action...

Ted's Lucky 15 for Tuesday, April 23

Find the following picks for Saturday races at Epsom and Southwell. Play on the races with our best expert-rated horse racing betting sites:

  • Epsom 2.10 - Lihou - bet with bet365
  • Southwell 2.18 - Star Flyer - bet with Copybet
  • Epsom 2.45 - Feigning Madness - bet with BetMGM
  • Southwell 4.05 - Floating Line - bet with BetUK

Epsom 2.10 - Lihou

This can go the wayof last year's winner LIHOU. The 8-year-old has been a little bit in the doldrums as of late, but has to be taken seriously as the defending champion, and should be primed to the minute for this race with a recent spin on the All-Weather at Lingfield putting him spot on for this encounter.

Purely from a handicapping perspective, he is now looking incredibly well-treated considering he comes into this race off a mark of 75 - now 8lb lower than when taking this 12 months ago. Forecast rain can only help the gelding's claims, and he should be firing on all cylinders for this. Harry Davies takes the ride on the David Evans representative, and a big run is expected.

Southwell 2.18 - Star Flyer

STAR FLYER looks the value play, with the Warren Greatrex team in good form at the moment. The 7-year-old hasn't quite been bringing his best form to the table on his last couple of starts, but has eased down the weights, and returns to the scene of his last victory - where he was very impressive over course and distance.

The return to this track is a big tick in the box, and I wouldn't be too put off by his penultimate run where he was well beaten in fourth - he clearly didn't stay the 3m trip on testing ground. This is much more his bag, and this unexposed sort can show his A-game here with James Bowen on board for the Lambourn set-up.

Epsom 2.45 - Feigning Madness

We have listed action over 1m2f, and this is an intriguing encounter in which a case can be made for pretty much all of the participants. However, the one I like the chances of is the Ralph Beckett trained FEIGNING MADNESS, who comes into this boasting an unbeaten tag, and showed stamina in spades to get up and win over 1m at Newmarket when last seen on the track last Autumn.

Visual perspective and pedigree align to suggest that today's step up in trip should be tailor made for the colt, where now that a greater test is presented in regards to stamina, he can take his form to higher levels. Hector Crouch is on board, and a third win on the spin would not surprise me in the slightest, with forecast rainfall a bonus.

Southwell 4.05 - Floating Line

We have a Mares' Novice Hurdle over 2m4f, and with the Nicky Henderson team back amongst the winners once again, it may pay to side with the 6-year-old FLOATING LINE.

She made a satisfactory Hurdle and Stable debut when fourth at Kempton last November, where the Sunbury venues' tight configuration over the minimum trip seemed to have her tapped for toe, but she did plug on.

I think this more galloping test combined with a step up in trip can only help her cause, and she has been given time to mature since that outing. Nico de Boinville takes the ride, and more improvement is expected.

Don't forget Ed will be back on Saturday with his best bets for what should be a blockbuster weekend of action as the stars set to clash at Sandown...
