Huijsen celebrates birthday win
Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen celebrated his 20th birthday by beating Fulham on Monday night.
The Spanish defender played the full 90 minutes as the Cherries won 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium.
After the final whistle, Huijsen told Sky Sports: "It's definitely going to be a memorable birthday!
"I think as a team we did so well today, not necessarily how we played but the fight we gave and the togetherness we had. It's great to get a win again and we are back in the running [for Europe].
"[We had] the will to win, we were really hungry to win. We all did a great job, we ran as much as we could. Credit to the team."
The win sees Bournemouth leapfrog Fulham into eighth place as they tussle for a spot in Europe next season.
Meanwhile, Huijsen continues his impressive campaign, adding: "I believe in my abilities and try my best for the team. The fans were great tonight, it gave us an extra push
"We play high press football, we are fearless in that sense, I am so happy we could win."

Bournemouth end their winless run by beating Fulham at the Vitality Stadium.
Antoine Semenyo's strike just 52 seconds into the match proved to be the winner in a clash between two European hopefuls.
The victory is the Cherries' first in seven league matches dating back to their win at Southampton in February.
It also sees them leapfrog their opponents into eighth place with six matches remaining.
Bournemouth, Fulham and Brighton are all now level on 48 points as they tussle for a place in Europe next season.
HT Bournemouth 1-0 Fulham
Antoine Semenyo's first-minute strike is enough to give Bournemouth a half-time lead against Fulham.
The Cherries forward struck after just 52 seconds to put the hosts in front.
Fulham have since created more openings on goal but without beating Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Andoni Iraola's side are now halfway to ending their six-match winless run in the Premier League.
A victory could also still keep alive their slim hopes of securing European football for the first time.
GOAL! Bournemouth 1-0 Fulham: Antoine Semenyo
WHAT A START!
Bournemouth take the lead in less than one minute!
A loose pass from Timothy Castagne gives the hosts a chance to break away and counter.
Antonee Robinson then fails to win the ball back, stumbling over the ball allowing Antoine Semenyo to collect.
Semenyo then drives forward and tucks into the bottom corner.
52 seconds in and Bournemouth lead!
That was the Cherries' third-earliest goal in the Premier League after Philip Billing against Arsenal in 2023 (9 seconds) and Matt Ritchie against Tottenham Hotspur in 2015 (49 seconds).
Kick-off!
We're underway at the Vitality Stadium!
Fulham can move to within three points of the Premier League's top six with a win over Bournemouth.
However, the Cherries can reignite their own hopes of a place in Europe by picking up three points.
It's going to be an interesting clash and you can follow it all live on talkSPORT this evening.

Time for heroes
Aston Villa boss Unai Emery wants his side to "write the history" by producing an epic comeback against Paris Saint-Germain to reach the Champions League semi-finals.
Villa have a mountain to climb in Tuesday's quarter-final second leg at Villa Park as they trail 3-1 from last Wednesday's first match in France.
They looked like returning to home soil with just a one-goal deficit but Nuno Mendes' stoppage-time effort proved damaging.
The odds are against Emery's men on their debut season in the Champions League but the Spaniard knows all about European comebacks, famously being the PSG manager when they squandered a 4-0 first-leg lead to lose to Barcelona in 2017.
And he wants his side to create their own story.
"I have experiences of coming back, positively and negatively," he said.
"But now it's something different. We want to write the history with Aston Villa. Last year in the Conference League and this year in the Champions League and hopefully for a long time in Europe.
"Because my experiences before were different, sometimes losing away and winning at home, sometimes losing at home and winning away.
"But I'm not going to remind the players of those experiences because my idea and my every word with the players is sending the message how we are doing this way and how we are getting experiences together here with Aston Villa.
"With the players we are, with the experiences we are adding in our back last year and this year.
"As well with the combination we have with our players mentally and as well tactically to play, being so demanding in our process to get opportunities and believing to beat tomorrow PSG."

Newcastle have released an update on manager Eddie Howe, revealing he has been diagnosed with pneumonia.
He will miss the club's next two games while recovering.
Their statement reads: "Newcastle United can announce that Eddie Howe is recovering in hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia.
"The club continues to extend its best wishes and support to Eddie and his family as he continues his recovery.
"Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones will lead the team against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa this week, with further updates to be communicated in due course."
Within the statement, Howe said: "A huge thank you to everyone connected with Newcastle United and the wider football community for your messages and warm wishes. They have meant a lot to me and my family.
"I also want to pay tribute to our incredible NHS and the hospital staff who have treated me. I'm immensely grateful for the specialist care I'm receiving and, after a period of recovery, I look forward to being back as soon as possible.”

Coventry are pushing for promotion to the Premier League this season, but this news could be a blow...
Manager Frank Lampard has been banned from the touchline for his side's clash with Hull City this evening.
The Sky Blues will be without their boss as they look to boost their hopes of securing a play-off place in the Championship.
He has been banned and fined £2,000 for misconduct towards a match official after receiving a red card following a defeat to Burnley.
The FA have imposed the punishments with immediate effect and it means Lampard is going to be sat in the stands tonight.
talkSPORT will have live coverage of Hull vs Coventry, with commentary coming from Mark Wilson and Chris Iwelumo.

Rogers oozes confidence
Aston Villa's scorer in the 3-1 first leg defeat, Morgan Rogers is more than ready to step up for his side again.
The attacker sat beside manager Unai Emery for their Champions League press conference ahead of facing PSG at Villa Park.
"There's massive belief," he said. "Most people wrote us off before the tie.
"The first leg I thought we gave a pretty good account of ourselves, of course there are details we want to learn from and improve upon for the second leg.
"Ultimately we know what they're like now we've played them and we're more comfortable now in that sense.
"We know there's a task at hand but we're excited. Under the lights at home playing in this competition in the quarter-final, there's not many better places to be.
"If anyone's going to turn it around it's us and we're excited for that challenge."

Even if Burnley don't make it to the Premier League next season, Tim Sherwood is sure one of their players should be there.
The former Tottenham manager was full of praise for Marcus Edwards who's played his part in the Clarets being five clear of the play-offs.
The England winger spent the past three seasons in Portugal under Ruben Amorim, and Sherwood is surprised the Manchester United boss didn't want to bring him along.
“Scott Parker watched a lot of training when he was at Spurs," he began. "He certainly spotted that talent in Marcus Edwards.
"I know he liked what he saw at Sporting under Ruben Amorim. And let me tell you… Manchester United have some worse players than Marcus Edwards.
"I'm surprised Amorim didn't take a chance on him. He has a very special talent and he's pleasing to the eye."

Paris Saint-Germain are expected to bring 2,200 supporters with them to Villa Park, according to L'Equipe.
The Parisian contingent will consist of 900 ultras who follow their team home and away, making the difference as they did at Anfield when their side knocked out Liverpool.
Villa Park holds 42,640 spectators, and those from the French capital are expected to leave by coach Monday night for the match on Tuesday evening.
As is customary, fans will then march from the city centre to the ground to watch their team try and convert their 3-1 first-leg lead.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has identified the key factor for his team to overcome PSG and it's Villa Park.
Speaking ahead of welcoming the Champions League favourites to Birmingham on Tuesday, Villa have it all to do as they're 3-1 down from the first leg.
After the defeat Emery surprisingly admitted he expected his side to lose before attempting to work their magic at home.
The message has stayed the same pre-match, as he told the media: "We have to believe in it while respecting PSG, but also exploiting Villa Park, so that we feel like it's our home, a fortress.
"If we connect with our fans, if we transmit energy, if we play well tactically and individually, the fans will also give us energy.
"They will help us a lot, transmit something to us. For our players, playing at home is always a plus. It's important how much they can help us, bring us."
He added: "We have to impose our strategy as best we can and also understand their ideas, those of PSG. How we're going to approach the duels on the pitch. The players are the protagonists.
"Paris won the first away match. The score showed that Paris is one of the favorites in this Champions League, but we also showed our ability to be competitive and get a good result.
"Tomorrow we will do our best, with our experience, our ideas, our qualities."

Arsenal have learned who will officiate the second leg of their Champions League quarter final tie with Real Madrid.
Frenchman Francois Letexier will be in charge of the match as the Gunners look to hold onto their 3-0 lead at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.
The Euro 2024 final referee has overseen four Madrid matches, with them not losing at home, only away 2-0 at Anfield earlier this season.
He's also shown he's not afraid to dish out cards, giving out five reds since the start of 2025.
The 35-year-old is yet to officiate a Gunners match, but is seen as one of the game's best new officials with 19 Champions League games under his belt after an extensive Ligue 1 career.
Credit: Getty Big summer for Liverpool
Ahead of announcing his contract renewal, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has some unexpected good news for supporters.
The Dutchman is expected to follow Mohamed Salah in extending his deal, but he also dropped another update after scoring a matchwinner against West Ham.
"I think Liverpool should be able to challenge for titles in the upcoming years," he said.
"Whatever happens in terms of players going out, players coming in, I think it should be a big summer. I think they're planning to make it a big summer, so we all have to trust the board to do the right job.
"I think we 100 per cent can improve. I think we shouldn't forget the quality that the Premier League possesses, especially this season. It's incredible how everyone can beat everyone.
"Brentford got a draw at Arsenal, Chelsea-Ipswich was a draw. We obviously lost against Fulham last week, so we can't forget that either.
"This year, there is a training camp and there is time for the team to work on what the manager wants and I think that will then improve the team.
"I think a proper pre-season would definitely help the club in order to be even more consistent than we already have been."

Amorim out of his depth
Arsenal legend and talkSPORT host Martin Keown has hammered Ruben Amorim for Manchester United's latest failure.
The Red Devils lost 4-1 to Newcastle on Sunday to slump to 14th in the Premier League table, making it 11 defeats and 12 wins since the Portuguese coach joined.
Responding to the latest embarrassment, Keown told White and Jordan: "What you want from Manchester United is to see a little bit of pride in the shirt.
"We think about the illustrious history of that football club and it must be a hard watch for former players.
"I'm watching it yesterday and thinking 'Amorim looks like he's out of his depth'
"It looks to me as if none of the players are really responding to him, the only player that plays without fear is [Bruno] Fernandes and I would be thinking 'that reflects poorly on me as a manager, they're not doing what I ask them to do' they don't like the system."
Credit: Getty No easy way back for Onana
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster doesn't see Andre Onana recovering quickly from his dropping.
The Cameroonian was left out of the 4-1 defeat to Newcastle having committed two costly errors in United's previous match - a 2-2 draw against Lyon in the Europa League.
Next up Ruben Amorim's side try to overcome those mistakes in the second leg in quarter-final, but Foster doesn't see Onana playing any part.
"You can't [recover that quickly]. It's a horrible place to be and I've been in it so many times throughout my career," he told talkSPORT.
"You're struggling mentally and the only thing you can think of is, 'Don't make a mistake.' And it's the worst way to go into games.
"If you can go into games with big confidence, positivity, knowing that you're going to help your team out, then you're on a great setting to start the game.
"But when you're thinking negatively and pessimistically, it's a really bad place to be, but I think Onana has been a little bit like that all season really.
"I see some of the mistakes that he's made and some of the saves that he makes, he seems to me like he's a little bit stressed when it comes to the big moments.
"Whether it's the big moment of making a save, whether it's a block or a parry, instead of being really sort of gentle and calm under pressure, he seems to be a little bit too stressed for me.
"So he's getting real blocky surfaces on things and everything seems to be popping out into that six-yard box, where you look at some of the top goalkeepers in the world and straightaway you think of someone like Emi Martinez or Alisson, or Thibaut Courtois.
"Them goalkeepers, when it comes to the real, big moments, it's that calmness under pressure, it's about being focussed but relaxed at the same time, and Onana just doesn't seem to be able to do that."
Madrid believe
One Real Madrid great is feeling increasingly confident about his side overturning the 3-0 deficit against Arsenal.
The Gunners stunned the reigning winners in the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a Declan Rice performance for the ages at the Emirates.
However, Madrid know all about coming back in improbable circumstances, and that includes Joselu who played a huge part in their 2023/24 treble.
Speaking at the Qatar MotoGP, the striker was asked about a comeback and said: "In the end, I think there’s one team in the world that can pull it off, and that’s Real Madrid.
"It was clear that last week 100 per cent of the planet thought Madrid were out. But as the match gets closer, people start to doubt a little more.
"I think Madrid has something special, especially at the Bernabéu.
"I think the game will be influenced a bit by an early goal, and from there the Bernabéu pushes, and then you already know what happens.
"We all believe, and let’s hope Madrid goes through."
Credit: Getty Bruno's big promise
After a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Newcastle, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has promised a completely different display against Lyon.
United's season went from bad to worse with the loss and they're well on course for their worst-ever Premier League season, sitting 14th in the table.
However, the Europa League offers some salvation, and on Thursday Old Trafford hosts Lyon for the second leg of their quarter-final tie with the score tied 2-2.
"We will fight back on Thursday," Fernandes told MUTV. "We will fight back and we will put everything back on the pitch that we have to do.
"From tomorrow on, we are going to put our heads on to the game, fresh legs, fresh minds and together with the fans, we are going to do something special again."
Praising supporters, he continued: "They have always been by our side, so it's time for us to pay back and I'm pretty sure this team is aware of that.
"We are very aware of what the fans have been doing for us, how much they care about the club, how much they care about the players.
"I know sometimes frustration gets into them, but that's normal. As it gets into me on the pitch, it's normal to get into the fans in the stands, and everyone is very aware of what we have to do on Thursday.
"It's going to be a big game for us, it's going to be a big game for the club. It's going to be a big game for Lyon too, but we have to be at the level."

Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony has had some fun with talkSPORT's Jim White after his side beat Birmingham in the EFL Trophy final.
The Posh won 2-0 at Wembley for an upset against the big spending League One champions, but MacAnthony didn't see it that way.
When White said it was meant to be Birmingham's weekend, the chairman replied: "Why? Why? You're like my wife!
"She said to me whatever you do just enjoy it today don't get upset.
"I said why? You believe what everyone else believes, I'm glad our players and manager didn't listen to any of that.
"We were 2-0 up at their place and the other night we were in the game, we're a good bloody team, I know we've been crap this season and had problems with injuries but we're a really good team.
"We should've been competing for promotion and hopefully we are next year."
He continued: "When you give our four attackers that much space and room to run into and attack, and a lack of respect at times, we can do damage to any team in the country.
"We made history today, first team to retain that cup, I'm really really proud."

Manchester City have extended the contract of Ilkay Gudogan by a year.
However, the German midfielder could still leave the Etihad Stadium in the summer.
Gundogan, who earned a reputation for being a big-game player for Pep Guardiola made a return to City having spent a year at Barcelona.
But he's returned amid a difficult season for the club with the player noticeably being not as effective as he was during his first spell.
City seem content to keep him on though, especially as they will wave goodbye to Kevin De Bruyne when the Belgian's contract ends in the summer.

Contract hint
In case you missed it earlier today, Virgil van Dijk hinted at a potential time for his new Liverpool contract to be announced.
And Mohamed Salah joked about his teammate's future at the Reds, days after signing his own new deal.
Salah told Sky Sports: “I’m glad that we managed to do it before the season ends, and hopefully, Virgil will be next.”
“Look, he can do whatever he wants, but I would love to see him again next year,” he added.
Van Dijk then said: “Everyone knows how much I love this club and let’s see what next week will look like.”
You can read more on his comments below...
'I know how good they can be'
Man United captain Bruno Fernandes has been speaking about how he feels his teammates could improve.
Fernandes is often seen berating his fellow players and giving them some tough love during games.
And he said post-Newcastle defeat: "My teammates - I only get frustrated with them because I know how good they can be.
"I know how tough it is to represent this club. They want so much to give to the club, to win because they know how much they will be remembered if they win something with this club."
Looking ahead to a huge week, he continued: "On Thursday [against Lyon in Europa League quarter-final] we go forward.
"We create a big atmosphere in our stadium, we need to be on the front foot and give everything we have because we want to get to the semi-final.
"In tough moments, we have done great performances against the biggest clubs. In decisive games when everyone is watching. We are Man United, we have to step up and do everyting to win the game."
Amor misery
Ruben Amorim is remaining defiant in the face of more criticism heading Manchester United's way after another defeat for them.
On the criticism from outside, Amorim said after Man United's 4-1 defeat on Wednesday: "I understand it (but) I don't care.
"Nothing is worse than losing games. People can say whatever they want to say.
"I don't want to defend myself or anything like that, because if you look at our position in the table, it says it all.
"So let's move on. It is really important Thursday, so I don't care what people say.
"Losing games is the hardest part by far from this job, so again let's focus on Thursday."

Manchester United’s 14 league defeats this season is their joint-highest tally in a single Premier League campaign.
The Red Devils last suffered more defeats in a top-flight season in 1989-90 (16 in 38 games).
On top of that, since Ruben Amorim's first game in charge, only Southampton (59), Tottenham (53) and Leicester (53) have shipped more goals in all competitions than United (48).
It's another dismal day for them and not one they wanted ahead of such an important game in Europe...
